HONGYE / HERITAGE

The story
in the
porcelain.

A story of decoration, making and the table.
Rooted in Jingdezhen, China.

READ OUR STORY

JINGDEZHEN, CHINA / HONGYE CERAMICS

A place gives it roots.
Making gives it life.

Hongye’s porcelain brings together decorative references, coordinated forms and the work of making. To understand the brand, begin with the objects: what they depict, how they are made, and how they belong at the table.

CHAPTER 01 / A LANGUAGE OF DECORATION

01 — 03
Company product photograph: landscape decoration and borders on the Classical Gardens porcelain platter.
Classical Gardens / detail of a porcelain platterHONGYE

A garden,
held in
porcelain.

Look beyond the blue and white. Pavilions, birds, a bridge and water turn the surface into a landscape. Around it, repeated borders give that landscape a frame.

01The subject
A landscape told through architecture, plants and water.
02The rhythm
Geometric and floral borders hold the composition together.
03The family of forms
In the complete service, related motifs connect different vessels.

CHAPTER 02 / THE WORK BEHIND THE OBJECT

Behind the surface,
the work of making.

A finished piece can conceal the work behind it. At the workstation, the porcelain returns to a different scale: the hand, the tool and the surface being worked.

The making is part of the story.

These present-day photographs bring attention back to the people and tools behind porcelain. The techniques and processes can be explored in more detail through Craftsmanship.

CHAPTER 03 / AT THE TABLE TODAY

Another motif.
A familiar language.

In Qingyun, floral decoration meets a quieter white ground. Alongside Classical Gardens, it offers another way to see a blue-and-white palette and coordinated forms at the table.
